How long does a swimming pool renovation take?

It depends but as a guide 3-6 weeks. Some are as short as 2 weeks and some as long as 4 months.

Is it ok to resurface a swimming pool by simply going over the existing paint, render or tiles?

If the existing surfaces are sound, or have failed only in isolated areas, then yes it’s possible, using high grade priming systems.

Is it ok to leave my pool empty?

Yes and no. It depends on the circumstances. Leave the emptying of your pool to your contractor. Swimming pools (inc concrete) can float out of the ground if left empty with high hydrostatic pressure (usually ground water) building up underneath – without relief. Fibre glass pools can collapse as water is removed. Some interiors do not like drying out or temperature variation, like vinyl or old fully tiled pools with a rigid adhesive base.
